Built on open standards

The software runs on Linux, which means anyone can develop apps for the platform. In terms of hardware, all connections are also standard: Ethernet, USB, serial ports, I/O, CANbus and six analog inputs are just a few examples. MIIPS C Unit is also operator-independent and can communicate in most common mobile network standards.

Backward compatible – future-proof

MIIPS C Unit is now on its third generation, but we are always careful to maintain backward compatibility. Thanks to the open connections and standards on which we build both hardware and software, the entire platform is also future-proof. Three generations will become many more – and functionality improves with each generation.

Easy to get started

The software is based on Linux, which means that application development is also easy for third parties. In terms of communication, MIIPS C Unit is equipped for mobile standards such as 3G, 4G and Ethernet. It is also completely operator-independent. A fixed connection can be used as the first carrier and a mobile connection as redundancy, for example, to secure critical communication.

The operating system runs with a CPU card that is monitored by a base card with its own processor that supports the functions. The unit comes ready to “Plug ‘n Play”, with standard configuration and a pre-installed SIM card upon request, making installation quick and easy. Specific configurations are then retrieved from the cloud.
